The Backyard Campout

OK I worked for Good Stuff Good Times on Friday and thought I was going to have to work on Saturday but didn't. Since I was going to work on Saturday Jeremy turned down a boating invitation from the nextdoor neighbors - Chad was taking Nick and Patrick and Chase were going too - they wanted Jeremy and Bradley to go but we had no one to watch Wesley so they didn't go. Well, on Sunday we were all out and I guess on the boating trip a backyard campout was proposed. This was the first we were hearing about it. But as you can imagine there was no way Bradley wasn't participating in this adventure. So they pitched the tent and all three little boys and all three big boys (Chad, Patrick and Jeremy) were sleeping outside. They had a ball - we were up until about 11 telling ghost stories, and eating smores and then all the girls went in and the boys stayed outside.

Great PaPaw's Visit

Well, my Papaw - the boys Great Papaw was here for a visit the beginning of August. Mom has yet to get me all the pictures (I can't imagine what she is doing - - - Watching the boys) but I did manage to get a couple so I thought I would share some of them - OH and by the way we do not beat Wesley - he is a daredevil and a climber and I turned my back for one minute and he was up on the train table and fell off into the drawer. He hit his cheek on the side of the drawer and boy did he hit it hard. Anyway - Just want to clarify that he is not getting abused. :-)

I Love My Brother...

Mom called me today and told me something she had been trying to remember that Bradley said to her yesterday. She finally remembered! It was just too good that I had to Blog about it.
Bradley: I love my brother
Mom: Yeah he is a really good brother isn't he
Bradley: He is going to grow up soon and start talking
Mom: Yeah I know - It won't be long
Bradley: I really hope he doesn't talk in Spanish!
Kids say the darndest things!

Our Backyard Visitors

On Saturday morning I got out and was weeding my flower beds out front, Jeremy was pushing Wesley around in his little car

and Bradley was "trying" to help me by "pruning" some of the bushes out front. All this was going on when Jeremy said "Lori - Look" I looked around the side of our house to the backyard and this is what I saw.
I am sure you can tell - our neighbors in the back do not maintain their yard as well as they should. I literally think they have mowed like 3 times this summer. It is really starting to get OLD, and all of us around them really wish they would do something about it. But these guys did their part to help eliminate some of the weeds on Saturday. They were grazing on them. :-)
The guy that maintains all the empty lots was weed eating the empty lot diagonally behind us and he came over to see the fawns. We were talking and he said they have been hanging out behind Danny (the builders) home across the street and around his house down the road. He thinks their mom may have gotten killed on the Interstate because he said she would never let them wonder as much as they have been doing. It was really a treat since you don't see this very often in a neighborhood setting. Bradley thought it was really AWESOME as he put it!

Kids Space

I got cabinets in the kids space so I am finally getting somewhat organized. We are overrun by TOYS!! This was before I actually got the baskets and stuff up there in them. I got these at Pennys and they are very good quality and 1/2 the price of the ones from Pottery Barn. They are great!!

Wesley LOVES this pillow - it is actually a dog pillow that mom bought Bradley one time at KMart just because it was a baseball.

VBS - 2008

OK - Not a lot has been happening around here! Great PaPaw is in and we have been hanging out with him. As soon as mom sends me some pictures of the boys with PaPaw I will blog those! Here is Bradley at Vacation Bible School. The theme this year was Great Bible Reef and the VBS Committee decorated the church wonderfully. It was alot of fun! I helped out on crafts all week and mom went around as the "unofficial" photographer. The last day they had a Water Carnival with a blow up water slide that the kids just loved!!! Here are a few pictures.
